I'm not familiar with it either. I was first introduced to to Bluefaced Leicester for wet felting - the colors were divine! Since, I've acquired some other - unidentified wools - so I can't comment. Merino does work beautifully for the bags I design…

Andrea, I'm not familiar with C1-Pelsull (not surprising since I'm not very experienced with different fibers other than merino, alpaca & romney.) Do you feel it works as well as merino for wet felting a purse? The feltmaker who will be teaching a c…

Just added a couple of photos to my page. One is the first felted bag I made with one of my handmade clay buttons. The other is a crocheted neck pouch or amulet bag with a clay mask & feathers; the clay charm on a ribbon is to tuck inside. Love to s…

Andrea, thank you for the kind words--- I have been exploring felt, by myself, with the help of several books, a little over a year now- but I am hardly new to fiber. I have never been pictorial before so felting is a new way to express myself --- I have studied painting, but, never been satisfied, found combining still life compositions and wool to be exactly what I wanted to do--- I am also very influenced by Matisse, Cezanne, and Mark Rothko --- just have some problems with being "Derivitive" instead of original, sometimes..... I love working with wool and I do think fiber is magical. I will think about what I might be able to do in October--- thanks

Hi- I have seen your work around--- flickr?, etsy?, your blogspot? --- anyway it is incredible --- so creative--- I love your characters--- I don't seem to have any of those rattling around in my head--- I love your scarves--- that is what I seem to be doing while I am learning--- but, your organic shapes, pods, vessels, branches??? THEY ARE SO WONDERFUL! I can look at them and just wonder how did you do that?
Where did these come from? Wonderful!

Hi, Andrea-

I got your message, but it didn't show up in my box and it's not on the group page either. So, I started a discussion in the bloggers group to address your question. Go over there and add your blog link so that the others can take a look, OK?

That's fine, Andrea! Glad you loaded some photos. They will surely draw quite a few fans! There are some tips on how to use the site on the front page, but if you click on the tabs at the top of this page, you will see where everything is.

Andrea! I am wowed by your work, especially all seed pods and environmental pieces. There are quite a few felters here, but so far nobody has started a group. Would you be interested in starting it? I'm sure the others would join if they saw it and you would interact a lot more closely with some great people. It's not a huge time commitment and groups evolve freely, based on activity and interests of the group. I'm not a felter so I haven't felt that it was my place to moderate a group.

Most people here start networking through their photos, so do load some soon. Each member has a blog on their page which is linked to the front page, a nice way to introduce yourself to the group and to keep us updated on your news. You can also change the template of your page to reflect your interests. Jump in and make yourself at home!

Free Vintage Paper Doll Pattern

Karen's Whimsey has this free Paper Doll pattern on her website.  Clothing for the doll also available.  Images are in the public domain.

American Folk Art Doll Pattern

This doll pattern and other folk patterns can be purchased at Cloth Doll Supply.  Their description:

HISTORICAL FOLK DOLL #11
The New York Doll

This 16" doll has made herself quite famous by being chosen to be on the cover of a well-known book of American Folk Dolls, by Wendy Lavitt. She is such a good doll for a cover as she has just about all the best details of this type of doll. Separate fingers, a wonderful and exaggerated face and hair all carefully embroidered, including her remarkable feather-stitched eyebrows, and a costume of just-right simplicity and detail. She has with her the same small cat the doll in the photo has. Silkscreened for embroidery and new antiquing methods included.
Pattern (mini-kit) #PGW725 - $42.00

The same pattern is used for both feet so you only have to make one pattern. Once you make the pattern you're all set, and you can save it for making more moccasins in the future.
