Thank you Felicity. I have the start (photo) of this piece on the Group Hot and Wet Photo. I finally completed it after it sat for several months all woven, but not attached. I do love creating with Tyvek and Lutradur.

What would you like to see happen here on Fiber Focus?
Just a wonderful coming together of many fiber artists. I would also like to see constructive criticism for pieces of our work. Sometimes we need others eyes to see what we cannot. Of course sometimes the photographs do not really reveal the true completed work.
How did you find out about our group? Do you know anyone else here?
I received an email from Ravela. I'm already a member.

This may seem a bit silly

I just wanted to say how much I love this site. Everyone here is just a wonderful artist. I love you all.
In this fast paced world we live in, and where sometimes it feels a little "wacked-out," I can always count on Fiber Focus to make me feel centered again. It's safe here. It's loving and kind here. It's exciting and stimulating. There's no competition just artists helping, enjoying, and sharing.
Now if you could all move closer to me and we could get a big place to work together, I would hav… Continue

Hi Connie, Here is what I wrote before about the boiling of fabric:. A friend took a class and learned this technique. Supposedly works for most synthetic fabrics, polyester, etc. You tightly rubberband small object, marbles, blocks, rocks in the fabric. Boil in a large pot of water for at least 20 minutes. Let cool. Hang up. Let dry completely (it takes a while because of the gathering of fabric). Then remove the rubberbands and objects. Apparently the shapes created are permanent unless you boil the fabric again. That's all the directions I have, but it is just that simple. Hope that helps and have fun with it!

Oh neat! Will you use something crystally for the frost? I could see xpandoprint working too... ooh, so many choices, it could be a looooong series! Wonder what ever happened to that old glass paint for aquariums... the one that looked like ice crystals on the glass!

Free Vintage Paper Doll Pattern

Karen's Whimsey has this free Paper Doll pattern on her website.  Clothing for the doll also available.  Images are in the public domain.

American Folk Art Doll Pattern

This doll pattern and other folk patterns can be purchased at Cloth Doll Supply.  Their description:

HISTORICAL FOLK DOLL #11
The New York Doll

This 16" doll has made herself quite famous by being chosen to be on the cover of a well-known book of American Folk Dolls, by Wendy Lavitt. She is such a good doll for a cover as she has just about all the best details of this type of doll. Separate fingers, a wonderful and exaggerated face and hair all carefully embroidered, including her remarkable feather-stitched eyebrows, and a costume of just-right simplicity and detail. She has with her the same small cat the doll in the photo has. Silkscreened for embroidery and new antiquing methods included.
Pattern (mini-kit) #PGW725 - $42.00

HOW TO MAKE LENAPE STYLE MOCCASINS

The same pattern is used for both feet so you only have to make one pattern. Once you make the pattern you're all set, and you can save it for making more moccasins in the future.
